You have surely noticed that I'm a massive sucker for anything with oil and herbs/plants in it. I guess that's my countryside-me calling somewhere inside, haha! About a week or so ago, I've decided to give Burt's Bees a try and since I had no idea what to pick, I got the Hand Salve (since another hand product can never hurt, right?). I didn't have high expectations, since I've never tried anything from this brand before, and I assume that just added to my excitement when I realised what a little golden brick this is!
I've already said that my expectations were not particularly high about this product, I wasn't even thinkin what 'salve' meant, just assumed it would be some sort of lotion. Salve can be defined as 'an ointment used to promote healing of the skin or as protection', so no crappy lotion or cream. It's a healing product! That would explain all the natural ingredients, doh!
Sweet almond oil
Olive oil
Beeswax
Tocopheryl acetate & tocopherol (Vitamin E)
Comfrey root extract
Rosemary leaf & oil extract
Lavandin oil and flower extract
Eucalyptus oil
I have to admit, that due to the 'oily' consistency (sorta solid but melts on touch), it might be quite hard to apply during the day, as it leaves your hands a bit greasy, however the rather oily feeling does not last for long - your skin sucks in all the ingredients after a bit! I would suggest using it at home as a treatment or as I sometimes do, just put it on the top of my hands. It works miracles for dry skin and has got really strong, but pleasant herbal scent to it!
You can get this travel size, which is 8.5g for £2.50 or full size of 85g for about £10 in Boots or from their official website!
What's your favourite Burt's Bees product which you believe I should try?
