Lola nail polish in Tangerine Dream & Prom Queen
See what I did here? The 'from-above-the-vase' shot. Oh yes. When you're done with admiration of this beautiful stereotypical beauty blogger shot, let's move to the M&S Lola nail polishes for SS14 - particularly Tangerine Dream & Prom Queen.

As to the nail polish front of late, there hasn't been anything that had particularly caught my eye. I'm trying to stick to buying just Essie - keeping the one brand rule has definitely helped keep my nail polish obsession in bay. Now, I do have a weak spot for corals & oranges on my nails - there's something soothing for the eye about those shades. My nan back in Czech Republic would call all these 'meat' colours - because they resemble different shades of meat (Czech logic for ya), but when you think about it - that might be one of the reasons so many of us find them so appealing. They make your hands look polished yet more alive than let's say blues or greiges. Theories about steaks & salmons (that is a colour, right?!), these two nail polishes are super duper ace.

They are very creamy (opaque in 1-2 coats), the colours don't fade (some oranges tend to fade after a few days? might be just me though), they stayed good 3 days without chipping (which is pretty impressive considering the state of my nails) and the bottles have got that high-end swanky cap that you take off & then unscrew the actual lid with a brush inside. I also think they look much more expensive than they actually are - £8 per 11ml bottle & you can find them in most M&S stores in their beauty section or online here.
