A surprise-surprise find and first impression review of Essence Vampire's Love Blush Gelee.
Now to the actual formula and why I like it! The first that came to my mind when I saw this was BENETINT by Benefit. So I dare compare this to it. Well, Benetint, even though it is beloved by everyone I do have a number issues with it, which seems to be combated by Vampire's Love. First of all, when I swipe the brush of Benetint on my cheek, it seems to be sliding down my face before I get my fingers on it and by that time it just gets streaky. This gelee blush seems to stay wet a bit longer, which gives me time to play around with it and properly rub it into my skin, in the area and shape I want it to be in. Benetint seem to leave the initial spot where I put it and God knows how to rub that away, I just cannot learn the trick. Gelee blush though, leaves an even coverage and does not streak, no matter how bad at the application you are.
Here is an attempt to demonstrate the consistency. It gives a nice redish pinkish hot-flushed look on your cheeks and to me it even smells nice! The only downside is that because you are applying it with your fingers, you're basically rubbing it in them as well, hence they get really red, but it is easy to wash it off with a bit of soap. Oh, and to be honest, I don't know how this works with foundation, as I only use Garnier's BB Cream and it works fine with, doesn't wipe it of at all. I would assume it would work fine with foundation too, then.
The staying power seems okay, it is not amazing, but fairly good for a cheap blush. Probably around 6-8 hours when you don't touch your face? I have tried multipurposing and applied a bit on my lips as a stain, and works nicely too! #bonus
Have you guys tried this gelee blush or do you know about any other one available in the UK? Maybe the Givenchy one?
