Today's edition of Recreate the Pin is all about statement chairs & armchairs! An accent chair is a unique centrepiece of your room that draws everyone's attention as soon as they step into the room. There are so many varieties, shapes, textures and colours you can pick from that it's almost impossible to choose just one (well, you can always have one accent chair per room, right?). I've picked three of my favourite pins with statement chairs & gave it a try to recreate them as closely as possible! Now go go go & be inspired!
🛋 The blogger 101
The most blogger-esque one of them all is this complete black & white setup. The centrepiece is the original Vitra DAR armchair (find here, I have a very similar one in white with blond wood legs) - despite the lack of cushioning it's the comfiest thing you'll ever sit on. Although how would I know - Cookie has decided that it's his chair since about day 2 of it being in our living room, aaah! It's not my style to live in complete monochrome but I do have to appreciate the B&W coffee table books - there's something particularly satisfying about colour coordinated books, isn't there?
🛋 Bright & neutral
You can tell that this is a young professional set up - it has a touch of feminine and bright but doesn't necessarily scream girly. It's grown up & sophisticated. The Vitra wire chair is a beautiful simple statement piece - the wire structure add a touch of modern and makes the room look more airy & spacious. Paired with on trend accents such as bright prints (Kylie's made the lip print a cult thing, hasn't she?) and gold details the room looks spot on like a magazine cover!
🛋 The girly one
Perhaps the one armchair that screams statement the most. It's pink & cosy and everything you want it to be, exactly where you want it to be - right next to a fireplace! Wrapped in a room full of neutral tones and Orla Kiely colours, the set up makes the room look very structured and super neat. This Vitra slow chair & ottoman are almost too pretty to lounge on (I would definitely NOT let Cookie sharpen his claws on it!).
